EDITORIAL POLICY · EFFECTIVE AUGUST 14, 2026

How we research, review, and correct Career Lab guides.

NHP University publishes the Career Lab to help readers understand insurance careers and education paths. Accuracy, source transparency, and clear limits matter more than publishing volume.

Short answer: We use responsible agencies and regulators as the source of truth, disclose the limits of educational content, record substantive revisions, and provide a public corrections path.

RESEARCH STANDARDS

How factual claims are sourced

Search results and competitor pages can reveal user questions. They do not replace the regulator or agency responsible for the answer.

01

Primary sources first

Licensing and compliance claims should begin with state insurance departments, CMS, IRS, Department of Labor, NIPR, NAIC, or another agency responsible for the rule or program.

02

Facts stay distinct from examples

Rules and published statistics are labeled separately from editorial suggestions, user-entered calculator scenarios, estimates, and examples.

03

Education is not authorization

A course, checklist, or private certificate is never presented as a state license, government approval, carrier appointment, job offer, client, or income guarantee.

04

Destinations are checked

A contextual NHP University link should match the learner's actual state, product, and goal. Known placeholder or outdated destinations are not promoted as finished programs.

BYLINES AND EXPERT REVIEW

What a review label means

Pages identify NHP University as publisher and link to the organization’s About page. A page may say that sources were reviewed when the cited material and copy were checked. That phrase does not imply review by an attorney, regulator, accountant, or credentialed specialist.

A named expert-review label should appear only after a real person reviews the page and NHP can truthfully publish that person’s name, relevant credentials, jurisdiction or specialty, biography, and review date. Until then, the page remains educational editorial content supported by primary sources.

UPDATE TARGETS

Different topics need different review rhythms

These are operational targets. A reader should still confirm a current requirement with the responsible official source before acting.

Career Lab review targets by topic
TopicReview target
State licensingAt launch, after regulator or exam-vendor changes, and at least every 90 days for actively promoted state pages
Medicare and ACAAt launch, when official annual materials change, and more frequently before and during enrollment-season updates
CHOICE and employee benefitsAt launch and when CMS, IRS, or Department of Labor guidance changes
Income and labor dataWhen BLS releases new occupational data or the cited dataset changes
Jobs and employer opportunitiesBefore publication and on the stated listing-review schedule; closed listings should be removed promptly

AI-ASSISTED WORK

Tools can assist drafting; sources control the facts

Software and AI tools may help organize research, compare page structure, draft plain-language explanations, or test code. They are not treated as authoritative sources for laws, licensing, program dates, compensation, or product requirements.

Before publication, regulated and time-sensitive claims should be checked against the linked primary source. Content should not be mass-produced simply to target keyword variations, and modification dates should change only when the underlying page changes.

ANONYMOUS ANALYTICS AND DOWNLOADS

What this site measures - and what it does not collect

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits and referring sites. Custom events measure guide engagement, tool completions, course-link clicks, and resource downloads. Each custom event includes the page URL and up to two labels, such as the course or resource identifier, button placement, language, or broad result category. They do not contain tool answers, calculator amounts, names, emails, health information, or payment data. Analytics is suppressed when Do Not Track is enabled, during automated QA, and on local previews.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Downloads are available without a registration form. A download click does not prove that the file was saved. NHP University handles course registration and purchases on its own website; this Career Lab does not collect enrollment or purchase records. Hosting and security infrastructure may process request metadata. See Vercel's analytics privacy information.

CORRECTIONS PROCESS

How to report a possible error

Send NHP University the page URL, the statement you believe is incorrect, and—when available—the official source that supports a correction. Do not send consumer health, tax, Social Security, payment, or application information.

Material corrections should update the visible copy, modification date, and revision record. Minor spelling or formatting changes do not need to be presented as a substantive regulatory review.
